Events that are offered throughout the year include several training events for youth council members, weekend retreats and rallies for the Middle School and High School youth, and many opportunities for growth through faith, fellowship, and fun.

Transportation to these events can be provided by your home church, advisor, or by a member of the Youth Committee. Ultimately, transportation is the responsibility of the parent, as we do not wish to have Youth Council members driving themselves to the events. Each Youth Council member is assigned a "Shepherd" who is a member of the Youth Committee. The Shepherd will pray for you, contact you concerning events and guide you in your role as a Youth Council member.

Please give prayerful consideration to becoming a Youth Council member. If you are interest in applying for membership on the New Hope Presbytery Youth Council, please complete the application, ask your parents, pastor or elder of your church, and your youth leader to complete a recommendation and place in a sealed, signed envelope and return it to you. You are responsible for returning the entire completed packet to the Presbytery of New Hope, Attn: Youth Committee, 2309 Sunset Avenue, Rocky Mount, NC 27804.

The Presbyterian Youth Triennium

The Presbyterian Youth Triennium is held, as it's name implies every three years at Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana. In the past, the Presbytery of New Hope has been allowed to send 30 participants between the ages of 15-19 years of age to the Youth Triennium in July. The Presbytery charters the bus and pays for the adult leaders leaving a registration fee and money for food for 4 days on the road.  The Youth Committee sends out the applications January. These applications must be accompanied by $100. If the youth is not selected the money is returned. Persons are chosen by the Youth Committee in February. In March the full applications must be completed with full payment and sent tot he Presbytery. Speakers come from all over the world and are from the several participating denominations. Over 7,000 Presbyterian youth and adults attend. It is an unforgettable experience!!! Sessions are asked to help youth pay for the event. All churches receive posters from the denomination and from the Presbytery.
