Division for Outreach Ministries

The Division for Outreach Ministries calls the presbytery to look beyond itself, and outwards to meet the varying needs of people in all kinds of settings and life situations. The division's efforts are directed in the areas of hunger social justice/peacemaking, global missions, campus ministries and church development/redevelopment

Mission Statement

The Division for Outreach Ministry exists to join with Christ in reaching out to the world with love and justice, as God leads.
We seek to make disciples of all people and to respond to human needs.

We believe God has called us to engage in ministry with congregations and on behalf of Presbytery to proclaim God’s reign and to work for wholeness in this area.

Value Statements

■ A commitment to work corporately in communities to meet needs and develop congregations.
■ A commitment to provide support, inspiration and guidance concerning the sharing of the Good News of Jesus Christ.
■ A commitment to support all churches with limited means in the exercising of their ministry to the end that they become self- sustaining.
■ A commitment to growth by initiating and renewing congregations.
■ A commitment to keep churches and the Presbytery the challenge of global missions and to educate congregations about opportunities for involvement in the mission.
■ A commitment to proclaim the Gospel in places of higher education through campus ministry and to share the insights and gifts of the university and college communities with the church.
■ A commitment to address peacemaking, justice and the alleviation of hunger.
■ A commitment to support institutional ministries such as prisons and hospitals.
